YOUTHS AND IT INDUSTRY

Information technology is one of the most booming industries in the world. The growth of the IT industry is very rapid. The IT industry has turned the world we live in into a small global village. We rarely find any part of the world that is not influence by the IT industry. IT industry has not only made us closer to each other but it has changed the way we look at the whole world. Today, we hardly can imagine the world without a cell phone, computers and the internet. It’s all the influence of the IT industry that’s vested upon us. We in one or another way need the assistance of IT to assist us to perform our day to day work.

So the importance and the scope of the IT industry are ever growing in a rapid pace. In this context, the IT industry has many opportunities to offer. The youth, especially people below age of 30, apart of .com generation can exploit the opportunities offered by the IT industry. The most eligible occupation for the youths of today is the IT industry. It is an open working industry. It provides a maximum work space and scope to discover one’s potentiality. It is a creative industry where the youths who are full of new experimental and creative ideas can express themselves. IT industry introduces the youths to the new horizon. It relates to a new subject matter which is unique from conventional subjects. It is a lucrative industry too. The remuneration in IT industry is far higher than any profession. It can be a means for the improvement of the economic condition too.

So after observing all the issues and the pros and cons of the IT industry, it best suits to the countries like Nepal. The majority population of Nepal is under the age of 30. We have huge human resource. . We don’t have oil fields, gold mines or a sea to utilize to enrich our economy. We don’t possess a large capital to run big manufacturing and business houses. The only possibility and alternative we have is our human resource.

The only possible work place we can provide for the youths is the IT industry. We are very familiar how a combination of IT industry and the youths can turn the country’s fortune. We don’t have to look far for the proof. The living proof is India. It has become one of the leading countries in IT. It has not only the prospect of becoming one of the economic superpowers within next 10 years but it is also helping in the development of the economy and IT industry of other nations. It is one of the largest exporters of IT products. It exports IT professionals, software and other IT innovations worldwide. IT industry can be a means of maintaining political and economic stability in the country which is desperately needed in our country right now. The catalyst for political unrestness in our country is the economic instability brought by the lack of employment opportunities. There is huge frustration among the youths due to the lack of proper guidance and a productive place to apply themselves to. So IT industry can be a perfect solution to turn their frustration into creative ideas which in turn will benefit the whole nation. In turn it will bring the much needed economic and political stability in our country. So it is very crucial that the government realizes this and takes serious and dedicated steps toward laying a sound foundation and infrastructure for the development of the IT industry.
